About Me

My photo
My name Troy Dunn, I like to engage in things that make you think. I enjoy going to sporting events when I can. I beleive there is a place for everyone to succeed if we guide them and train them while little. More about me. I grew up in a small town between New Orleans and Baton Rouge Louisiana. I am the second of three boys. I move to Texas in 1996 looking for a new start. Texas became everything I hoped it would. I re enrolled in College at the University of North Texas where I earned my BA in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a minor in Kines. After a long break I enrolled on-line to Tiffin University in Tiffin Ohio to persue my masters in MBA in Sports Management. I believe with this degree the sky is the limit for me, through the help of God it can.

I chose the newspaper from Dallas, TX The Dallas Morning News and The Japan Times,Tokyo, Japan both newspapers reports on some of the same issues such as: local, world, politics, sports, health and other news worthy stuff. I found that the Dallas Morning News and the Japan Times are pretty much the same except that I found the Dallas Morning News does not offer its paper in another langage other than english where as the Japan Times offer its paper in its native langage and in English.

Nadal rallies to beat Federer

Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in an Australian Open semifinal on Thursday night, the longtime rivals playing with the intensity they normally display when they meet in Grand Slam finals.

Nadal bests Federer to make Aussie final

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) Only the trophy and the tears were missing from this latest Grand Slam installment of Rafa vs. Roger.
Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were on opposite sides of the net Thursday, meeting in the semifinals of the Australian Open.
And Nadal was the winner again - for the eighth time in their 10 Grand Slam matchups.

As you can see that both newspapers covers just about the same news from local, sports, world news etc. They print just about the same news as the other, I could not tell if the Dallas Morning News report it in other languges

January 20, 2012 I attened the Texas Legends D-Leauge Basketball game. I've been attending games since the team arrived in North Texas. The team is located in Frisco Texas not far from where I live.
Because the leauge depend is just a step down from the NBA and a step up from college they don't get much attention, but for the price the game is worth it. There is also a local talent Booker Woodfox who plays for the legends which is always nice to see him play. You can also see players who was once on a NBA team who are now playing at the level. I don't but you, but I would like to ask those players why do the go play in the D-Leauge or low profile leauges. Let me share what I think. I think some players find it hard to find a job doing anything else and wants to continue to play even if the money is not close to what they have been making in the NBA or the Europe leauge. The game was full of fun activities for the kids but I think it takes away from the game. There is a lot to learn at these games and more needs to be done to promote it. I think the NBA don't want that much attention on the D-Leauge for it would take away from there revenue. The Legends defeated their opponet by 30 points led by future Mavricks player Dominique Jones and Sean Williams. Also on the team is Antoino Daniels. So go out and support you local Semi Pro team its worth it.

Why do I want to be a sports manager? That reason is many. First I love sports it is a way of release, and bring families together, it bring countries together as well. I love it for the competitiveness, the action and excitement also. For most of my adult life I've worked in the Food Service industry. I have been also management for 10- 15 years and had much success. But my heart was to work with youth in sports and the arts. I have been involved in coach since 1993 coaching tee ball to basketball and football. I worked with students one on one to help develop their game as well as their confindence. I attended University of North Texas, Denton TX. where I optain my Bachlors degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. I was the President of an Optimist Club, I am also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fartarity, Inc. I love the Lord without him none of this would be possible. Like ESPN I think I can do the same for someones sport organization.

ESPN and affiliate of ABC has went from a small one channel to 4 or 5 channels to radio and Internet. ESPN covers everything from Collegiate to Pro to little league. And because of their success it opened the door for others to branch out to do the same such as the NFL network, NBA network, the Golf Channel have all been inspired by such creativeness.

Why all the hype about sports. Well many people need a place to release stress others need a place to get away from spouses or family or just to hang out. Why do you go to a sporting event? Your answer just might surprise you.
